Blocking isn't working

Start by checking Screen Time permission.

Check permission first. Open iOS Settings, go to Screen Time, and confirm it's turned on and that Aura appears there with access. If Screen Time itself is off, Aura cannot block anything at all, because Aura runs on Apple's blocking system rather than its own.

If permission is on:

  1. Open the Blocks tab and check the app is included in an active block. Under **Your

Apps**, the app has to be in one of your lists. Being installed on your phone isn't enough.

  1. Check the Blocking Now section at the top. If it says blocking is up to

date, Aura thinks everything is applied.

  1. Force quit Aura and reopen it. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then

swipe the Aura card away.

  1. Restart your iPhone. This clears the majority of stuck blocks, because the

restriction lives in iOS rather than in Aura.

  1. Still nothing? In Easy Mode, delete Aura and reinstall it, then sign in. If a Hard Mode block is running, wait for it to end or turn off Hard Mode with the required press and hold before reinstalling. Your habits, streaks, and coins return with your account.

Things Aura genuinely cannot block. Apple's own system apps like Phone, Messages, Settings and Camera are outside what any third-party app is allowed to restrict. Content opened inside another app, like a video playing inside a messaging thread, also sits outside the block.

If none of that works, email help@downloadaura.app with your iPhone model, your iOS version, and which app isn't blocking. That combination is usually enough for us to reproduce it.

Still stuck? Contact Aura support and tell us what happened.
